Your Agreement with Riviera Tours LLC
By making your booking and paying your deposit, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, and you agree to convey the contents of this Agreement to your traveling family members or companions.
What's included in the price
The tour price includes all accommodations, many meals, land transportation, airport transfers, luggage handling, sightseeing excursions and services of a tour director as detailed for each tour.
Hotel Accommodation
Prices are per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double bedded room with private bath or shower. Note that single rooms in European hotels are generally smaller than twin bedded room.
For European destinations, if arriving the day before the tour departure, your accommodation and breakfast is included in the price. If you arrive on the day of departure, your room will be available immediately, regardless of the time of your flight.
For tours outside of Europe, accommodation and breakfast is included from the first day of the tour.
Airport Transfers
Between airports, hotels and train stations for the duration of the tour. If your flights are booked by Riviera and you arrive on the departure day of the tour, transfers are included from your arrival airport to your first hotel, and back to the airport on the last day of the tour.
Tour Directors
All tours are conducted in English by a professional multi-lingual tour director
Meals
Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinners are included on tours as specified in each itinerary
Sightseeing
Excursions and entrance fees to places of interest as detailed in each itinerary with an English speaking guide are included
Luggage Handling
Luggage handling is included in the tour cost; however, due to space limitations on motor coaches, we ask that you limit your checked baggage to one average sized suitcase per person not exceeding 50lbs in weight. Please note that, due to security reasons, luggage handling at airports and train stations is not included in the price unless indicated in the tour itinerary.
Hand luggage should be limited to one small piece per person containing only items needed during the day. On motor coaches, space under seats and on overhead racks is very limited and therefore oversized baggage will be placed in the luggage bays.
Gratuities
All gratuities for restaurant and hotel staff and local guides are included in the price of the tour. The only gratuities not included are for your tour director and for the coach driver.
What's not included in the price
Airfare, including airport and departure taxes, to the tour departure point and from the tour end point. Personal expenses such as phone calls, beverages, bottled water, laundry, meals when not included and other optional incidental extras. Transfers to/from the arrival/departure airport if you choose to make your own flight arrangements or if arriving before the first day of the tour.

Deposit for Land Arrangements (required at the time of booking) : $200 for all tours except Oberammergau which is $400
Final Payment: At least 56 days prior to the tour departure date. Any bookings without full payment at this time may be subject to cancellation without notice.
Travel Documents
These will be sent to you by first class mail approximately 14 days before departure providing full payment has been received. Thoroughly review the itinerary and tickets in their entirety. Verify all passenger accommodations, ascertain that all names are correct, and match the documentation that you will be using for identification. Many travel suppliers require pre-registration forms completed online or via fax. These forms must be completed prior to departure; it is your responsibility to make certain this has been done prior to departure. Suppliers may charge a substantial fee plus applicable fare increases for changes made after the tickets or documents are issued.
Booking Changes, Cancellations & Refunds
Booking Changes
A fee of $30 per person (per change) will be charged in addition to any fees imposed by any third party supplier such as airlines. A change of tour date or tour itinerary within 56 days of departure will be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees may apply.
Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
You must notify Riviera Tours of cancellations by email, fax or in writing with the following charges levied upon receipt of this notification:
1. Land Arrangements
All tours except Oberammergau:
56 days or more $200
31 – 56 days 20% of the tour cost
8 – 30 days 40% of the tour cost
1 – 7 days 90% of the tour cost
Day of Departure 100% of the tour cost
Oberammergau:
56 days or more $400
31 – 56 days 60% of the tour cost
8 – 30 days 80% of the tour cost
Within 7 days 100% of the tour cost
2. Airfare
The following cancellation charges apply for airline arrangements made by Riviera Tours:
Prior to ticketing: $50.00
Following ticketing: $50.00 plus any airline imposed penalties which may be up to 100% of the value of the ticket
To assure fairness to all, no exceptions can be made for any reason, including illness, inability to travel, State Department warnings, or fear of terrorism. No refunds will be made for used tour features. All cancellations must be in writing and received by us by the deadlines above. Please note that when purchasing Riviera Tours’ insurance policy, the cost of this insurance will not be refunded in the event of cancellation.
Additional Information
Itinerary Changes
Riviera reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with the operating requirements or in circumstances beyond our control. Every tour requires a minimum number of participants, and we may cancel the tour and refund your payments if we deem the number of passengers signed up for a given tour to be insufficient to operate the tour. If cancellation is made any time prior to the tour departure date, Riviera’s only liability will be to provide a prompt refund of the amount it has received for the booking. Riviera will try to re-book the same or a similar tour and, where flights have been arranged by Riviera, we will attempt to confirm airline reservations for the new dates selected, subject to availability. Please note that Riviera is not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on other travel arrangements made directly by the guest.
For your Comfort
Riviera Tours carry a maximum of 34 passengers on motor coaches and operates a seat rotation along with a strict no smoking policy. Regular stops are made on travelling days. High speed trains and internal flights are used where possible to reduce excessive journey times by motor coach.
Passports & Visas
For international travel, US citizens need a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the last day of the tour. Non US citizens should contact the relevant consulate for information on all necessary documents required. For certain destinations, visas are required. Please see the information provided on each tour or refer to www.travel.state.gov for detailed visa information.
Tour Prices
We guarantee that once we have confirmed your booking we will not increase the price of your booking for any reason.
Itinerary Changes
Riviera pledges to make every effort to operate all tours as advertised. However, in unforeseen circumstances or where Riviera deems the itinerary can be improved, we reserve the right to amend the itinerary or substitute hotels. In this event, hotels will be of equivalent standard.
Travelers Requiring Special Assistance
Riviera cannot provide individual assistance to guests for walking, wheelchairs, motorized scooters, dining or other personal needs. Guests needing this assistance must be accompanied by an able companion who can assist them. We regret that some itineraries cannot accommodate wheelchairs or motorized scooters. Please ask at the time of booking.
Air Services
Airfare may be purchased through Riviera for travel originating in the United States.. Your airline ticket constitutes a contract between yourself and the airline (and not Riviera), even if purchased through Riviera. Riviera is not liable and assumes no responsibility or accept claims with regard to seat assignments, name changes, schedule changes, flight changes, cancellations, claims for refund or reimbursement of airline ticket fees, or any other loss or expense incurred by you for any reason whatsoever (including without limitation to bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization of a carrier or similar relief from creditors) when purchasing or using the carrier’s services. The flight booking service offered by Riviera can only be used in conjunction with a Riviera tour. Tickets and/or e-tickets will be mailed with final documents.
Travel Protection Plan
Riviera recommends that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance. For your convenience Riviera Tours offers our guests the option to purchase comprehensive travel insurance though us. For more details please ask your Travel Consultant at time of booking.
Responsibilities
We act only in the capacity of agent for the suppliers of the travel services named in the Itinerary or otherwise providing services or goods in connection with the tour (the Suppliers”), such as airlines, hotels, sight seeing tour operators, bus lines, car rental companies, and providers of entertainment. We assume no responsibility for any personal injury, property damage, or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason (1) any act or omission of any of the Suppliers (2) any matter beyond our exclusive control including but not limited to a delay or cancellation of a flight that causes you to miss any portion of the Tour. We have no special knowledge regarding the financial condition of the Suppliers, unsafe conditions, health hazards, weather hazards, or climate extremes at locations to which you may travel. For information concerning possible dangers at destinations, we recommend contacting the Travel Warnings Section of the U.S. State Department at (202) 647-5225 or www.travel.state.gov, and click on “Travel Warnings.” For medical information, we recommend contacting the Centers for Disease Control at (877) FYI-TRIP or www.cdc.gov/travel.
You assume full and complete responsibility for checking and verifying all passport and visa requirements of the destinations and for complying with all laws of the country in the Itinerary. You are also responsible for respecting the authority and following the directions of the tour guide during a Tour. We may exclude you from participating in all or any part of the tour if, in our sole discretion, your condition or behaviour renders you unfit for the tour or unfit for continuation once the tour has begun. Unfitness may include, without limitation, any behaviour that, regardless of its cause, is inappropriate or offensive or interferes with the delivery of tour services, or may constitute a hazard or embarrassment. In such case, our liability shall be strictly limited to a refund of the recoverable cost of any unused portion of the tour. We are not responsible for the behaviour of other tour participants toward you. Should you decide not to participate in certain parts of the tour, no refunds will be made for those unused parts. You must be 18 or over to participate in the tour. You agree to release us from liability for any matter for which we disclaim liability under this Agreement. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from and against our liability to third parties arising out of your or your companions’ actions or omissions.
Any dispute related to the tour shall be governed by New Jersey law without regard to conflict of laws principles. The federal or state courts in New Jersey shall be the exclusive forum for any lawsuit related to the tour, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction by said courts. You agree to present any claims against us within 30 days after the tour ends and to file within one year of the incident, and you acknowledge that this expressly limits the applicable statute of limitations to one year. You agree to grant us (and third parties with whom we may engage in joint marketing) a worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid up license to use your photographic, video, or digital likeness solely for our promotional and/or commercial purposes. Facsimile transmission of any signed document shall be deemed delivery of an original. At our request, you shall promptly provide an original document as well. If there are any conflicts between this Agreement, the Reservation Form, and the Itinerary, this Agreement shall apply.
Where the passenger occupies a motor coach seat fitted with a safety belt, neither Riviera Tours or co-operating organizations or service providers concerned will be liable for injury, illness or death or any loss or damages or claims whatsoever arising from any accident or incident, if the safety belt is not being worn at the time of such accident or incident.
In the case of computer or human billing errors we reserve the right to re-invoice participants with correct billing. Every effort is made to ensure brochure accuracy at the time of going to press; however Riviera Tours cannot be held responsible for printing or typographical errors, or errors arising from unforeseen circumstances. It is your responsibility to comply with the terms, conditions or requirements of any service provider, or any country or government authorities, or to bear any costs or losses incurred as a consequence of you not complying with them.
Complaints procedure: Should you have a complaint regarding your tour, you should inform your Tour Director immediately. If the matter cannot be resolved after the Tour Director’s best endeavours to do so while on tour, your complaint can be made in writing to Riviera Tours, 501 Kings Highway East, Suite 200, Fairfield, CT 06825, Attention: Guest Relations.
Entire Agreement: This Agreement is the entire Agreement between you and Riviera Tours.
